I am double-veteran of demopit with Tangler in 07 and PeopleBrowsr in 08.

In both cases it was immensely valuable. Over two days you get to pitch to 500+ founders, investors, media, partners and more. You get intense honest feedback, you get leads in all areas and if you’re focused and special, you’ll get 10x return through media and investor leads.

That being said, you have to make sure you are;
* A team of outgoing, assertive people.
* Good english speaking with a good 30 second pitch and 2 minute demo.
* Have a useful takeaway. Not a big brochure. Maybe biz card or post card size.

Best advice in this article is “host your demo locally” We luckily had 3g wireless access but it was slow from all the attendees but it worked in a pinch.

I would have to agree, Edmodo demo’d in the demo pit last year and it was a great experience. It was a long grueling day but worth it. I would suggest anybody considering demo’ing in the demopit to do it the second day and get a feel for how everything goes down in the demopit. The first day last year had serious bandwidth issues too. All in all it was a great experience.
